My name is Zachary Nylen and I'm passionate about creating designs that both catch the eye and enhance the lives of those who use my creations. My background in cultural anthropology and web development give me a unique advantage in UX and am excited to share my skills with a company that will allow me to grow with them.
I began my UX journey whilst interning as a web developer. During this time I gravitated towards this field but knew I wanted some formal training in UX to legitimize my new found passion. I completed Google's UX course in January of 2023 and have been working as a UX design intern at a company called Marketeq Digital. The internship has been extremely valuable in terms of giving me real world experience on a design team: presenting my designs and defending my process, completing user research for my sprints, and mastering Figma, Adobe XD and other design tools.
Having passions and hobbies outside of the work environment is extremely important to me and I feel lucky that I can pursue these things often. When I'm not designing you can find me planning a unique vacation, hiking Southern California's many trails, capturing scenic views with my camera, or tending to my many houseplants and 3 poison dart frogs.
